We’re looking for a responsible Registered Practical Nurse (RN) to work with patients’ conditions and administer medications, treatments, as well as provide education to both patients and their families.
You will make decisions on patient care and evaluate outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you should have an outstanding knowledge of medicine, as well as affinity with patients.
It is important to be compassionate and have the ability to communicate well with your fellow healthcare workers and the public.
Ultimately, you will be interacting with patients directly to assess their needs and overall progress throughout treatment.
Responsibilities:
Carry out clinical assessments and physical examinations.
Assist in administering intravenous injection and medication infusion.
Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and CT scans, by setting up equipment, arranging patient position and prepping skin.
Perform a variety of clinical tests and procedures, like spinal taps, phlebotomy, EKG’s and Echocardiograms.
Apply if you have these requirements:
Current certificate of competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a Rehabilitation/Complex Continuing Care Hospital or Acute Care Hospital preferred
Current vulnerable sector check
CPR and first Aid
Certificate from a WSIB approved provider
A copy of a 2-step TB test that is current
N95 mask fit certificate due to COVID precautions
Valid COVID vaccination Certificate
A current copy of Immunization record – 2 step TB Test1, MMR, Tetanus, Hep B, Varicella, Flu Shot – annually.
